Dorco Razor Review
Look, I’ve been at this shaving gig for…well, let’s just say for a lot of years. I’ve been frustrated with all the razors I’ve tried for one reason or another until I found Dorco USA.
Not only are these quality razors, as you’ll find in my Dorco Razor review, but here’s the real surprise…they can help you retire early!

Before we dive into my Dorco razor review, let me back up my wild claim with some data and tell you a story…
What We Spend on Shaving Products
Hold your hat on…this will shock you. Americans alone spend BILLIONS on shaving products every year. Take a look at this chart from a report on Statista.
Let’s Get Personal
$3.6 billion is a big number that’s hard to relate to so let’s get a little personal and I’ll tell you my story.
In the beginning…
A long time ago I used to buy those disposable razors you can get in big packages. Think Bic. They would go dull after a few shaves and leave razor rash galore. And, I don’t know about you, but I cut myself regularly with those things. Good riddance!
In the early 2000’s the marketers got smart…they sent a really nice razor in the mail for you to try. Clever. I cracked, used that Gillette Fusion and fell in love. Wow…
After the “freebie” blades were used, I was off to buy replacement blades. OUCH! So that’s where you get nicked! Those blades will cripple even the best laid financial plan. But I was hooked.
While the shave was lovely, the problem was that the blades didn’t last that much longer and the lubrication strip became useless after the first few shaves.
I got fed up…
I used that spendy shaver for the last several years but about six months ago I got fed up. The handle was falling apart, the blade would pop off when I dropped it and the overall quality of the blades seemed to be going down hill.
So began the search for a quality razor that didn’t break the bank. After reading a few other Dorco razor reviews, I decided to give them a try and so I’m glad I did. These razors are awesome and reasonably priced!
My Dorco Razor Review
When I decided to give Dorco a try, I looked at all of the razors they offered and decided to go with a combo pack so I could see which razor I liked best. That was a good choice because I never would have tried the Soft Touch 6 Blade System and it turns out that this is the mother of all shaving goodness!
Although all of the razors in the combo pack were superior to their competitors, these are my reasons for loving the Soft Touch 6 Blade System the most:
- The razor head is on a swivel and glides over curves and corners beautifully. Better than any other razor I’ve tried.
- I can shave fast without worrying about nicks. In my book, faster is better when it comes to shaving!
- The handle is SO COMFORTABLE and easy to grip giving me more control. I never drop this razor, which means it doesn’t get damaged.
- You can put different Dorco blades on the same handle.
- The blades last for A LOT of shaves. I would get about 15 shaves out of the Gillette Fusion but push it longer resulting in razor rash and aggravation. I get at least 30 comfortable shaves with this Dorco system.
- No trips to the store. I can reorder over the internet without shipping charges on orders of $25 (why not buy your annual razor supply at one time?).
- Making and selling shaving products is all this company does and so they really care about the customer experience.
- Switching to Dorco can save you a bundle…
Let’s do a little math here. I shave every day (can’t stand leg stubble…okay, maybe that was too personal, but hey, this is a razor review!).
The chart below is based on my approximate usage. Razor mileage may vary for others, but this will give you the basic idea of how the math works out.
Switching Can Help Save For Retirement
So for me, I save nearly $100/year by switching to Dorco. If you switch while you’re young, you could wind up shaving off $4,500 in razor costs over your lifetime but those savings are worth far more than $4,500. Over 50 years that small change can make a huge dent in achieving retirement.
Take a look at this wizardry! If you begin using Dorco products at age 20 and invest that $100 earning 8% (don’t laugh, it can be done!), when you’re 70 that single act of switching razors can add up to nearly $62k. Nice!

While this review is from a female point-of-view, men love Dorco razors, too. Just take a look at the customer reviews on their product pages.
